Rice Genetic Modification Simulation

Del Toro Cover

Rice is a staple food product in many countries across the globe, and it can be modified in numerous useful ways (e.g., to be resistant to diseases, to include additional nutrients as in golden rice). In this project, students use both simulations and some traditional wet-lab techniques to model these practices.

These materials were developed by ABE Master Teacher Angela Del Toro of ABE Puerto Rico as part of the ABE Master Teacher Fellowship.
