Dan brings a remarkable blend of classroom experience, administrative insight, and passion for equitable science education to the ABE Tampa community. With 27 years of teaching experience in public schools and 10 years as a district science supervisor, he developed a deep understanding of what it takes to bring meaningful STEM opportunities to students of all backgrounds. During his time as a district administrator, Dan immediately recognized the promise of ABE and worked with the ABE Program Office to help launch ABE Tampa. When Dan retired from the district, he chose to spend time lowering the barriers to ABE implementation and inspiring Tampa Bay teachers to bring biotechnology education into the hands of all students.

Dan serves as the ABE Tampa Ambassador, a natural fit for his advocacy. He builds relationships with local partners and helps bring ABE opportunities to underserved areas across Tampa Bay. He encourages the ABE Tampa team to look closely at who is being reached, reminding us that student demographics tell an important story about our impact and our responsibility. Through thoughtful questions and a steady push toward continuous improvement, he motivates the ABE community to expand its reach and deepen its influence. Dan is also supporting ABE Tampa's teacher recognition initiative and is excited to learn more about how ABE Flex can strengthen the teacher community.
