This month the Program Office recognizes Kristina Han, site coordinator and lab technician for ABE Canada. Described as the “heart, soul, organizational dynamo, and DNA/protein whisperer of ABE@UTM,” Kristina has been an integral part of the team since joining in late 2017. She organizes all technical aspects of the program, from coordinating the distribution of kits to facilitating PDIs, and has developed and contributed to numerous ABE outreach events. In addition, she has worked with the Program Office to develop two toolkits and two curriculum modules, and she is a member of two working groups. Kristina serves as a master lab technician, supporting 12 of the 24 ABE sites across the world, and is an active member of ABE’s Equity, Access, and Engagement working group. In her spare time, Kristina enjoys fencing and is an Olympic referee in the sport. She also loves cats, does beautiful cross-stitch, and cooks. Is there anything this amazing woman can’t do?
